-Marius and Cosette met at the Louxemberg one afternoon. She was out on a walk with her father and He was wandering his own business when the power of a glance united them in love. One that would only keep growing bigger.
"It was just a stroll in the park that day
but now that I look back, it wasn't that way.
when I saw you I felt something jittering in my heart
I didn't know it, but that jitter was just the start."
(Christina Guyen, Stroll In The Park)
-Cosette doesn't really know the true feeling of love, but knows something is going on with her and Marius. She's scared of what is happening but at the same time amused by it. For her, those mixed feelings are something wonderful and indiscribeable that keeps them from being apart. For some time, Marius and Cosette did not see each other at the Louxemberg, and Cosette did not know why she missed him so much.
"The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him, if he were really here? Forgive me, I have never known this feeling. I've lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, that I fail to recognize you? You-- who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say...I cannot find the words. Except for these-- I love you! Such would I say to him, if he were really here."
(Jeannot Szwarc, Somewhere in Time)
-Jean Valjean is afraid to loose Cosette and grows angry at Marius. Marius still comes over to Cosette's house and leaves her letters under a rock. Nothing keeps keeps them away from their true love.

"So I sneak out to the garden to see you,
We keep quiet, 'cause we're dead if He knew,
So close your eyes,
Escape this town for a little while.
'Cause you were Romeo,
I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet."
But you were everything to me,
Begging you, "Please don't go"."

One of the Great Specters of that Time
Text to Movie
This Trailor is about Noah and Allie in the movie, The Notebook. It relates to this small chapter of Les Mis. because Noah sent Allie 365 letters, but Allie's mother would not give them to Allie once they got to her mailbox in order for Allie to stop loving Noah. This obviously failed because Allie later found out the truth about the letters. In the book, Pontmercy sent his son, Marius, many loving letters but Marius' grandfather, Gillenormand, never gave them to him and just put them away.

King Lear relates to Marius because both books talk about disinheriting their sons or grandsons. In King Lear, Lear disinherited Cordelia because she could not express her true love and threatend to take all of her land. In this chapter of Les Miserables, M. Gillenormand threatend to disinherit his grandson if George Pontmercy ever visited his own son or spoke to him.

The movie, Home Alone, connects back to this chapter of Les Mis. because Kevin MacCalister went to church and encountered his scary neighbor, who was watching his granddaughter singing in a choir. The scary neighbor was forbidden to see his granddaughter because of family troubles. In Les Miserables, Pontmercy went to church just to see his legitimate son, who was always sitting a few rows in front of him. It was the only way to see him, for M. Gillenormand kept him from keeping in touch with Marius.

Les Miserables Character Post: Cosette

Little Cosette's mother, Fantine, leaves her behind with the Thenardiers.

Jean Valjean recues Cosette from the Thenardiers and escapes with her.

Cosette learns many different things, like how to read and write throughout her journey with Jean Valjean.
Cosette is related to Jean Valjean as himself in many ways. First of all, she is recued by him and both of them escape from the police. Jean Valjean teaches her new things and treats her like his own daughter, taking care of her, giving her shelter and providing her with food. Cosette loves Jean Valjean back like a father.
